The Open Card provides membership to the Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library, the Billy Bishop Museum, Marine & Rail Museum and the Tom Thomson Art Gallery. Visit opencard.ca to learn more about the Open Card Partners.

The Open Card replaced the previous library card on May 18, 2022.

Free memberships are available to all residents and taxpayers of the City of Owen Sound, the Township of Chatsworth, the Township of Georgian Bluffs and the Municipality of Meaford (through an agreement with the Meaford Public Library).

All members of each household are encouraged to get an Open Card. Memberships are available from birth.

To register for an Open Card you will need to fill in an Open Card application form and present current identification that clearly shows your address. Visit the Library or fill out the form below.

By signing your Open Card, you agree to take responsibility for borrowed materials, to return them on time and in good condition or to pay all fees for lost and/or damaged items including processing fees.

Please notify us of any changes in name, address, or telephone number.

Please report all lost, stolen, or misplaced cards as soon as possible.

Individuals who live outside the Library’s catchment area, but reside elsewhere in Grey and Bruce Counties, can purchase a non-resident Library membership. A non-resident membership affords all members of a household full borrowing privileges. Each member of the household will be issued a Library card.

The rate for a non-resident membership is $500 per year.

Individuals who normally reside outside Grey and Bruce Counties may apply for a visitor’s membership. Identification showing their home address must be provided.

The rate for a 2 month membership is $80.00 per household or $30.00 per individual.
