The Library communicates with our patrons through many channels. You get to decide how you would like to be contacted. We offer email, text messaging, phone calls, or mail notifications. See below to find information about each communication channel.

If you have provided the Library with your cell number for Text (SMS) Messages, the following notices will only be sent by text message:

  • A notice when your holds are ready for pick-up
  • A reminder 2 days before your hold will expire
  • A reminder 3 days before any item is due
  • A notice 7 days after an item was due
  • A notice 14 days after an item was due
  • A bill for items more than 28 days overdue

You may want to add our dedicated Text Message Phone Number to your Contacts in your phone: 1-647-697-9085Do not reply via text to this phone number. This is a one-way text line and library staff have no way to view or respond to messages.

If you wish to unsubscribe from Text Messages, you can speak to a staff member, call 519-376-6623 x 0, or email us at info@library.osngupl.ca.

Texted due date reminders, overdue notices & bills give you an additional way to keep track of when your items need to be returned to the Library. However, we cannot guarantee their delivery as each phone carrier and user has the right to manage their own accounts and delivery rules. Individuals are still responsible for returning library materials on time and may find their accounts are blocked if materials remain signed out past the due date.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Standard message charges may apply.

If you would like to register for Text (SMS) Message Notifications please fill out this form.
